Image metadata viewer
Before you share a photo, it helps to know what is inside it. This viewer scans the file locally and lists the supported categories it detects, with a before and after view once you clean it.
How to use it

What the viewer reports
It groups findings into categories and shows a confidence level, rather than dumping raw hex fields. That makes it quick to see whether a location or provenance indicator is present.
Detection, not decoding
The scan reads container structures and known text signatures. It can tell you that GPS or C2PA is present without exposing the exact coordinates or manifest contents, which is useful when you only need to know what a file carries.
Categories you will see
The viewer reports supported indicators by category.
- EXIF: camera, lens, and capture settings.
- GPS: location fields embedded by the camera.
- XMP and IPTC: editing, creator, and workflow data.
- C2PA / Content Credentials: provenance containers.
- Container and time markers, such as PNG tIME or format boxes.

Before and after
The same report is shown for the original and the rebuilt file, so you can confirm what changed before you share the output. That is the difference between hoping a file is clean and knowing it.
Frequently asked questions
Does the viewer keep my image?
No. The file is read in browser memory for the session and is not uploaded or stored.
Can it show the exact GPS coordinates?
No. It reports that a GPS indicator is present, not the coordinate values.
Which formats can I inspect?
JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and AVIF, HEIC, or HEIF where the browser supports decoding.
Does viewing change the file?
No. Scanning is read-only; cleaning is a separate step.
What does the confidence level mean?
It reflects how strongly the signature matched a known metadata structure, from low to high.
Can it read my camera's serial number?
It detects an EXIF or camera indicator. MetaRase reports categories rather than dumping every raw field.
